Mên-an-Tol, meaning 'holed stone', is thought to be part of the remains of a Bronze Age stone circle or possibly the entrance to a now vanished tomb. Known locally as the 'Crick Stone' this ancient site has featured in numerous folk stories and has often been cited as having magical healing powers.
