Description

Shiodome (汐留) is a recently redeveloped city district in Tokyo, which only opened to the public in 2002. Its towering skyscrapers accommodate many offices, the headquarters of Japan's major television network and a large variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, theatres, hotels and other attractions. Literally translating as 'halt the tides' Shiodome was previously a tidal marshland that separated the Imperial Palace from Tokyo Bay.
