Night Sky from Canary Islands

This resource is only available as part of a pack

Description

Our Solar System, and the individual stars we see at night, are all within the Milky Way galaxy. From February to September, with clear weather and very dark moonless skies, it is possible to see a band of brighter light across the night sky as we look towards the centre of the Milky Way galaxy where stars more concentrated together. Cameras with long exposure times can capture more light than the human eye so makes the sight of the Milky Way truly spectacular.

This experience shows green 'airglow' and light pollution over the stars, as viewed from Roque de los Muchachos in La Palma, Canary Islands.
