Countryside Habitat: Day

by Avantis World
This resource is only available as part of a pack

Description

This scene takes the form of a large area in the countryside and within it, there are smaller local habitats, or micro-habitats, such as individual trees, hedgerows, cow pats and bee hives. It is an idyllic rural area, full of plants and animals. You will not see any humans here – but look a little closer and you will soon find evidence of people. The countryside habitat can span over large areas of the land and although there are fewer buildings and smaller roads in the countryside, there is still distinguishable features including plants and animals.

The scene will include links to 360 images of examples of countryside habitats. Through the scene and launching the images, take your students on a journey of exploration through the countryside.

# Food Webs{.object .object4}

In this section, a description of interdependence will be outlined. The reliance of wildlife on each other in a specific habitat can be modelled by food chains and food webs. Plants and animals store energy that other animals need. Herbivores consume plants to obtain the energy they need, while predators rely on other animals as an energy source.
