Sources of Light

This scene takes place in a simulated environment where students can explore different types of natural and man-made light scene covers an indoor section that looks at electrical and man-made lights as well as an outdoor section where students can explore how the sun affects earth and various natural light phenomena.

# Learning objectives

1: Be able to identify sources of light found in the natural world.{.info}

# The Sun and other Stars{.objective .objective1}

This section focuses on light from the sun and it's important on earth. Students learn about visible light and the energy emitted from the sun and the task asks students to find places where the sun maybe the only light source and think about why the sun is brighter than other stars.

# Natural Sources of Light {.objective .objective2}

This Section focuses on bioluminescence and chemical reactions that can create light such as algae or fireflies. The activity asks students to find natural sources of light, other than the sun, within the scene.

# Artificial Sources of Light{.objective .objective3}

The final section of the scene looks objects inside the house that create artificial light. The activity asks students to find artificial light sources and consider where they are used.
