Countryside Biome

This scene takes the form of a large area in the countryside and within it, there are smaller local habitats, or micro-habitats, such as individual trees, water bodies, and hedgerows. You will not see any humans here – but look a little closer and you will soon find evidence of people. The countryside habitat can span over large areas of the land and although there are fewer buildings and smaller roads in the countryside, there is still distinguishable features including plants and animals.

The scene will include links to 360 images of examples of countryside habitats. Through the scene and launching the images, take your students on a journey of exploration through the countryside.

In this section, a description of human use of the space within the countryside will be outlined. From farming, to roads, building and clearing, by exploring the scene, various features of the land can be observed and identified, and the human impact on natural habitats can be considered.

# Plant Life{.objective .objective2}

In this section, an outline of examples of plants that can be found within a countryside will be provided. Whether natural plants or those introduced by humans, plants provide shelter, food and contribute to the stability of the ecosystem. Students should explore the scene and identify plants that could be naturally occurring or have been introduced by humans.
