Stonehenge

This scene is a simple reconstruction of what Stonehenge may have looked like over four and a half thousand years ago. The stones are in their original, upright positions with reconstructions of some potential sites that may have been in existence when the stones were first erected.

# The Significance of Stonehenge {.objective .objective1}

This scene looks at the alignment of the sun and the possible significance of Stonehenge to the people that built it. Here students to look at the stones and think about what motivated people to create this monument.

# The Stones of Stonehenge {.objective .objective2}

This section looks primarily at the stones themselves, including the great distance they were brought to build Stonehenge. The activity for this section asks students to think about how the stones could have been moved as well as why they were transported so far.

# The Arrangement of Stonehenge {.objective .objective3}

This scene talks about the positioning of the stones and how they have been arranged around the movement of the sun in the sky. Here students can think about why the stones are arranged the way they are and how it would have looked 4,500 years ago.
