Description

Set in the early 1920s, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby follows Jay Gatz, a mysterious character from a humble background who falls in love with wealthy Daisy while serving in the forces. Desperate to gather enough wealth to prove himself worthy of her, he spends years accumulating money through illicit means and reinventing himself as Jay Gatsby. During the novel we see him reconnect with Daisy, but she chooses to remain in her marriage to Tom Buchanan and the comfortable life that he can provide coming from a rich family.
