The scene lets students explore CERN and the Large Hadron Collider. They will observe the design and how it was fundamental in gathering the evidence for the existence of a variety of subatomic particles, discovered by colliding protons or ions with each other.

# CERN, the Experiment{.objective .objective1}

In this section the development of the theory of the particle model will be described. Here, the role of particle physics in that develppment will be outlined, and how the CERN Hidron Collider was designed to gather data to supor the theory, and its continued development. By exploring the scene, students will gain an understanding of the design and the role CERN plays in gathering evidence.

# Higgs Boson{.objective .objective2}

In this section the purpose of the Hadron Collider will be outlined. Its function in accelerating particles will be described, and how it is responsible for the collisions that split atoms, which led to the discvery of a subatomic particle, the Higgs Boson.

# Subatomic Structure{.objective .objective3}

In this section, the significance of the discovery of the subatomic particles beyond the previously believed to be the smallest will be described. Examples of subatomic particles that have redefined particle physics will be aoutlined, such as Quark and Leptons.
