Banks of the Nile

The scene lets the students explore a section from the banks of the river Nile and learn about the characteristics of the river’s environment. By observing the habitats and animals, as well as the historical ruins of human settlement, they’ll learn about the importance the Nile plays.

# The Journey of the Nile{.objective .objective1}

Students will learn about the source and destination of the Nile. They will learn about the importance of the Nile to human settlements. Students will be asked to think about the clues that suggest humans have been settled near the Nile for a long time and its importance in farming.

# The Habitats of the Nile{.objective .objective2}

Students will learn about the different habitats that can be observed along the extensive length of the Nile. Students will be asked to think about how the river is important to humans, animals and plants particularly as it is a hot, dry region.

# The Creatures of the Nile{.objective .objective3}

Students will learn about the wildlife that can be found along the river Nile. They will learn about why reptiles are more abundant along the hot and dry riverbank. Students will be asked to think about why land animals spend a lot of time in the water or near it. They will also be asked to consider why there are few birds in the area considering they rely on trees for safety and nesting.
