Fish As Animals

The scene explores the world of Fish and the characteristics unique to them. Students will observe different species of fish and how they may look different within their kingdom yet share the key features that make them fish. Take the plunge into the depths of the fish world and look at the similarities and differences between some examples of fish.

# Learning objectives

# What are Fish?{.objective .objective1}

In this section, the key features of fish will be described. By exploring the scene, the common features that fish share and be observed, such as gills, fins and scales on the skin. As well as being fish, the idea of fish as vertebrates will be highlighted, placing them in the animal kingdom.

# Different Types of Fish{.objective .objective2}

In this section, students will observe different species of fish. While the examples highlighted are all fish and share the typical characteristics, yet they are different to each other as fish species.

# Unusual Fish{.objective .objective3}

In this section unusual fish will be described. By exploring the deeper waters, you will discover the unusually looking angler fish able to survive the pressures of the deep, yet lure its prey by unusual ways. Here you will also observe the hammer head shark with its wide off set eyes.
