Our Circulatory System

The scene lets students explore the human circulatory system. Here students will be able to observe the structure of blood vessels, the organisation of the circulatory system, and the blood flow in one cycle.

# Organisation of the Circulatory System{.objective .objective1}

In this section, the organisation of the circulatory system will be outlined. The circulatory system comprises of the heart, arteries, veins and capillaries. Connected in a figure of eight arrangement, blood flows to and from the heart.

# Structure of the Blood Vessels{.objective .objective2}

In this section, a description of the blood vessels will be provided, and their adaptation to their function outlined. Each blood vessel: veins, arteries and capillaries, allow blood flow, but transport it to a specific location. Arteries away from the heart, veins back to the heart, and capillaries network in between providing an exchange surface for nutrients and waste.

# Blood Flow and Transport{.objective .objective3}

In this section, the route blood takes will be outlined. Its journey to and from the heart will be described on both the left and right side of the heart, the organs it leads to and returns from.
