This scene lets students explore an ancient Greek stadium and learn about the ancient Greek Olympics. By exploring the arena and observing the various items and models, students will learn about this sacred event that brought a truce between city states, and the events that participants competed on for honour and glory.

Students will learn about the history and the importance of the games. Students will be asked to explore the stadium and consider clues that suggest the events was a large event.
# The Importance of the Olympic Games {.objective .objective2}
Students will learn about how the fames were a religious festival in honour of the Greek God Zeus, and that only men could participate, whilst married women were barred from attending.

Students will learn about the events that participants competed in., They will learn that sporting events were not the only events, and in fact writing and poetry were part of the Olympics.
