The Black Sea

The scene lets students explore the Romanian coastline on the Black Sea and its surrounding countries. Here they will develop an understanding of the geographical significance of the Black Sea and its importance to the Romanian economy, through trade routes, passage transport and tourism. Students will observe the location and the role different ports and resorts play in Romania’s economic development.

# The Black Sea{.objective .objective1}

Students identify the geographical characteristics of the Black Sea and its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. They should explore the scene to identify the countries surrounding the Black Sea coastline.

# Ports and Transport{.objective .objective2}

This section examines the importance of ports to the Romanian coastline. They will learn about 3 major ports, their proximity to the Black Sea and the role they play in the transport of various resources and trade goods, and passengers to and from surrounding countries. Students will be asked to look for clues indicating that trade goods are transported through these ports.

# Tourism{.objective .objective3}

Students will learn about the importance of the Romanian coastline to their tourist industry. They will learn about the extensive coastline and the location of some of the major beach resorts, and their popularity among Romanian and foreign tourists. Students will be asked to explore the scene and suggest how the coastline is set up for tourism.
