Europe in the Napoleonic Era

The scene lets students explore an environment that outlines the impact of the Napoleonic Wars and his rise and fall from power. Students will observe various items, clues and images and learn more about who Napoleon Bonaparte was and the impact he had in Europe in his fight to make European states into republics.

# Napoleon Bonaparte{.objective .objective1}

Students will learn about how Napoleon Bonaparte was a superb strategist and rose to power in the French army at a young age due to his military capabilities. Students will be asked to explore the scene and look for clues outlining Napoleon’s character as a soldier. They will be asked to look for clues Napoleon was successful and powerful.

# The Napoleonic Wars{.objective .objective2}

Students will learn about the Napoleonic Wars against the leading monarchies in Europe. They will learn how he redistributed the territories and about the eventual defeats that led to Napoleon’s fall from power and exile. Students will be asked to observe and look for clues that suggest battles took place. They will be asked to look for clues that Napoleon went from being a soldier to an emperor.

# The Impact on Europe{.objective .objective3}

Students will learn about the impact the Napoleonic Wars had on Europe and the various states controlled by their monarchies. Students will learn about how the territories were returned to the way they were before the wars and under monarch control. Students will be asked to observe the maps and compare the differences before and after Napoleon’s influence.
