**Key Elements and scene Summary**

Journey through this plant-rich environment and let students discover the variety of types of plants that exist on earth. By observing, interacting and gathering evidence, students will be able to observe ferns, mosses, flowering plants, horsetails and liverworts and learn about classifying plants. In the scene, they will observe features such as pollination, flowering, spores, cones and many other features used to classify plants.

# Conifers{.objective .objective1}

- A description of conifers, such as pines, will be outlined. A plant capable of producing cones that store seeds after fertilisation, and dispersing them after the cone falls, students will learn that this is a specific type of plant in its own category.
- Students will be asked to explore the area, observe, and identify conifers. Here, students will be able to interact with the scene and gather evidence of conifers, such as cones.

# Plants that Spore{.objective .objective2}

- In this section, plants that produce spores will be outlined. From large, complex ferns and horsetails, that produce spores and store them on the underside of their leaves or as clusters at the top of the stem respectively, to mosses and liverworts with simple or absent rooting system and transport system. Mosses and liverworts rely on shaded and damp climates to grow, survive, and produce spores that are stored at the end of stalks that grow above the plant.
- Students will be asked to explore and observe the plants. As such, they will need to identify ferns, liverworts, mosses and horsetails. By interacting with the plants in the scene, they should gather items as evidence that show they correctly identified these plants.

# Flowering Plants{.objective .objective3}

- The final type of plants modelled in the scene are flowering plants. From wind pollinated plants that do not produce brightly coloured flowers, to insect pollinated plants that do, students will be able to observe examples of these plants. By observing the cherry blossom, various flowers and grasses, they will be able to move and gather samples from their identification exercise.
- Students will be asked to explore and identify the various flowering plants. They will be asked to interact and gather evidence to show flowering plants.
