# The Workhouse{.objective .objective1}
In this section, students can learn about the New Poor Law Amendment Act of 1843. In this section, students are asked to explore the workhouse and to try to and explain what the conditions would have been like for someone who lived in a workhouse.

In this section students find out how Oliver runs away to London. In this section students are asked to explore the streets of London.
# The Slums and Fagin’s Hideout{.objective .objective3}
In this section students learn about Fagin and how Oliver learns to ‘pick pocket’. In this section, students are asked to explore Fagin’s hideout and find evidence that proves Fagin is not an honest man.
# The Maylie’s Cottage{.objective .objective4}
In this section, students will learn how Oliver is sent to Bill Sikes and how he is looked after by Mrs. Maylie in the countryside. In this section, students are asked to leave London and exit into the countryside to explore the cottage. How does the weather and lighting in each setting change its feel?
