Description

This scene takes the form of an orchard, where Isaac Newton is believed to have come up with the theory of gravity. By Observing the apples fall and the farmer using a pully to lift baskets, students will develop and understanding of the force of gravity and its effect on objects that have a mass.

# Learning objectives

1: Be able to describe the force of gravity{.info}

2: Be able to describe how mass and gravity interact{.info}

# Isaac Newton and the Apple{.objective .objective1}

In this section, Sir Isaac Newton will be introduced and a description of his observations that led to the hypothesis of Gravity.

# The Force of Gravity{.objective .objective2}

In this section, Gravity will be described as a pulling force. Objects are pulled to the centre of the earth, and that gravity has a size and direction. As students explore the scene, they should look for evidence that gravity has an effect on objects, i.e., falling apples. This should serve as evidence for gravity pulling on objects as thy fall to the ground.

# A Matter of Mass{.objective .objective3}

In this section, mass will be introduced and that all matter made of particles have mass. A description outlining that gravity pulls on objects that have mass, and that is the reason that objects fall to the ground.
