Reptiles As Animals

The scene lets students explore the world of Reptiles and observe the characteristics unique to them. Students will observe different species of Reptiles and how they may look different within their kingdom yet share the key features that make them reptiles. They will look at the similarities and differences between lizards, snakes, crocodiles, alligators, caimans, turtles, and tortoises.

# What are Reptiles?{.objective .objective1}

In this section, a description of the typical characteristics of reptiles will be outlined. Students will learn about what reptiles are, the characteristics they share: scaley skin, cold blooded, lay soft leathery eggs and are terrestrial.

# Different types of reptiles{.objective .objective2}

In this section, different types of reptiles can be explored. By observing the different models, the common features between the different species can be identified.

# Unusual Reptiles{.objective .objective3}

In this section, unusual reptiles will be outlined. By observing the reptiles, students should be able to identify those that are slightly different, yet recognise which features determine they are reptiles, such as turtles and tortoises.
