Description

This scene takes the form of a science lab with various electrical circuits set up. Each circuit is similar with the same components with the exception of increasing number of cells to power them. Each circuit is set up to show how the voltage and current is measured, as well as model the impact that mor power has on the light bulbs, voltage and current, illustrated by the animated wires and readings on the ammeters and voltmeters.

# Making Electrical Circuits Work{.objective .objective1}

This section outlines how a simple circuit should be connected to work. It outlines the components needed to make a complete circuit while also describing the safety aspects of using appropriate amounts of energy to make the circuit safe. The key components are, wires, connection clips, light bulb, power source (batteries), voltmeter and ammeter.

# Powering Electrical Circuits{.objective .objective2}

In this section, the description of voltage will be provided. It will be outlined as the power needed to make electrical circuits with specific components work. The power, electricity is an energy type, of which the source is often batteries. Depending on the components that are being made to work, the amount of energy needed may vary. Larger components that need a lot of energy, will have more batteries to make it work, and vice versa. The power can be measured suing a voltmeter. By exploring the scene, the impact increasing the power source has on the voltage, measured with voltmeters, and the brightness of the bulbs can be observed.

# Electrical Flow{.objective .objective3}

In this section, electrical flow will be described as current. The current is the flow of electrons that transport units of electrical energy supplied by the power source. The voltage in a circuit causes the current to flow and the greater the voltage the greater the flow. This ensures sufficient energy reaches the components. By exploring the scene, the flow can be observed across the wires, and the use of ammeters will be modelled to show how current can be measured.
