The Coral Reef

The scene lets students explore the coral reef in the Great Barrier Reef. In this scene, students will explore, observe, and learn about the coral system, how it relies on a specific climate to flourish, the wildlife that relies on it to survive, and the human impact that is causing a decline in the coral reef and the biodiversity within it.

# The Great Barrier Reef{.objective .objective1}

Students will learn about the Great Barrier reef, it’s general make up and how the coral system grows. They will learn that the coral reef relies on a warm temperature to flourish and that the environment it creates attracts wildlife that relies on it for survival. Students will be asked to explore the scene and observe the wildlife. They will be asked to identify them and the coral they live around.

# The Impact of Human Activity and Pollution{.objective .objective2}

Students will learn about the human activity that has disrupted the climate in the water where the coral system is established. Students will be asked to explore and compare the two coral reefs. They will be asked to identify clues that suggest the cause of coral bleaching and its impact on wildlife population.

# Protecting the Coral Reef{.objective .objective3}

Students will learn about the importance of the coral system as an ecosystem and sustaining biodiversity in that environment. They will learn about initiatives developed to preserve and protect the coral system. Students will be asked to identify clues that coral bleaching affects wildlife. They will be asked to identify how the bleaching affects biodiversity.
