Description

The English alphabet consists of 26 letters, each with an upper and lower-case form. The alphabet has 5 vowels, 19 consonants and 2 letters that can serve as consonants or vowels (W and Y).

The letter N is the fourteenth letter of the English alphabet. This scene will introduce students to the phoneme and the grapheme of N and encourage identification of the items within the scene environment that begin with N.

# Objectives:

1: Recognise the upper and lower-case grapheme of the letter N.{.info}

3: Practice speaking skills by using the phoneme of N.{.info}

# The Letter N{.objective .objective1}

Students can explore the scene and look for the large upper and lower-case letter N. Discuss how they look different. There are upper and lower-case letters hidden around the scene for students to find. Encourage them to pick them up and sort the upper and lower-case letters. There are three lower-case and three upper-case N letters to find.

Students can investigate the environment and find items that begin with N. Encourage them to say the name of the objects as they find them.
