Proganochelys probably belongs to the oldest turtle-like reptiles, and its length exceeds one meter. The carapace and plastron protect the body. The toothless skull is massive, while the stout neck is covered with conical spines. Limbs are short and thick. The tail is robust, possessing spine-like structures. Proganochelys lived in the Late Triassic (c. 212‒210 Ma) in Europe (Germany) and possibly in SE Asia (Thailand). ## Keywords Mesozoic, Late Triassic, Anapsida, ?Testudines, Proganochelidae
