Proganochelys

Description

Proganochelys belongs probably to the oldest turtle-like reptiles. The length exceeded 1 meter. The body is protected by the carapece and plastron.The toothless skull is massive, the stout neck is covered with conical spines. Limbs are short and thick. The tail is robust, possessing spine-like structures . Proganochelys lived in the Late Triassic (ca 212‒210 Ma) in Europe (Germany) and possibly in SE Asia (Thailand).
