Allosaurus belongs to large Late Jurassic (160‒150 ma) Theropod predators. The animal's length was almost 10 meters, the weight exceeded nearly 2,5 tons. Marked crests or horns are typically developed in front of the orbits. Originally, they may have been enlarged by horn material (keratin). The skull is massive, jaws disposed with knife-like teeth and marked with indentation at margins. Shorter arms possess noticeable claws. Allosaurus lived in North America and Europe (Portugal). ## Keywords Mesozoic, Late Jurassic, dinosaurs, Theropoda, Allosauridae
