Archaeopteryx is probably one of the earliest known representatives of bird line, possessing morphological features of both reptiles and birds. The marked bird feature is the presence of feathers and furcula bone, the reptile features include jaws with teeth, anatomy of limbs and tail vertebrae. Feathers is a modern-like type, suggesting some kind of limited flight (rather passive gliding). According to some opinions, it represents a smaller, feathered dromaeosaurid dinosaur. Archaeopteryx inhabited teritory of S Germany (Bavaria) 151‒148 Ma.
