Macropoma is a smaller coelacanth fish that lived during the Late Cretaceous of Europe (c. 93‒70 Ma). It belongs to the closest relatives of the Latimeria. Macropoma has a typical characteristic fin composition - paired pectoral and pelvic fins, anal, dorsal, and secondary dorsal fin. The caudal fin is massive. The oil-filled swim bladder likely became mineralized during the animal's lifetime. ## Keywords Mesozoic, Cretaceous, Sarcopterygii, coelacanth fishes
