Cretoxyrhina is one of the largest Mesozoic sharks. It belongs to the modern neoselachian sharks. The length exceeds seven meters. Its jaws possessed more than 250 knife-like teeth, the length of which extends up to seven cm. Cretoxyrhina inhabited the Upper Cretaceous (98‒82 Ma) epicontinental seas of Europe and Northern America.
