Purgatorius is a very small mammal from the turn of the latest Cretaceous and Paleogene period, living in North America 100‒96 Ma. The known fossil material consists of a skull, vertebrae and limb bones. Especially ankle bones show an adaptation for arboreal habitat and relation to the primates. Purgatorius was herbivorous.
