Description

Purgatorius is a very small mammal from the turn of the latest Cretaceous and Paleogene period, living in North America 100‒96 Ma. The known fossil material consists of a skull, vertebrae and limb bones. In particular, ankle bones show an adaptation to arboreal habitats and their relationship to primates.
