Spinosaurus

by STEAM3D

Description

Spinosaurus is the largest theropod known. The length is 15‒18 m and the weight is calculated to be 9‒12 tons. The skull should exceed almost 1,8 m. It is relatively slender and prolonged, with marked conical teeth. The maxilla is typically “crocodile-like” shaped. Frontal limbs possessing larger claws are significantly shorter than dorsal ones. From the pectoral to lumbal parts of the vertebrae, there are developed high spines of vertebra, exceeding height almost to 1,7 m. Spinosaurus lived at the turn of the Lower and Upper Cretaceous period (112‒98 Ma). They probably preyed on large fish. ## Keywords Mesozoic, Cretaceous, dinosaurs, Theropoda, Spinosauridae
