Cymopolia is a calcified large unicellular and multinucleated green algae in the family Triploporellaceae (order Dasicladales, class Ulvophyceae), which extends from the Cretaceous to the recent. Lithologic evidence suggests that the algae grew in shallow, warm water that subsequently became hypersaline. The living species of C. barbata grows about 10 cm high and has tufts at the end of stems that are lightly calcified or covered with calcium carbonate. ## Keywords Plantae Chlorophyta Ulvophyceae
