Description

Upon the impact of the **light beam** on the front side of the **diverging lens**, there is a refraction towards the **perpendicular (k₁)** since it is an air-glass interface.

On the other side of the lens there is a refraction away from the **perpendicular k₂**, because in this case it is the glass-air interface.

Because the beam refraction is determined by the **angle** of the refraction, which is related to the perpendicular of impact, the rays are broken and scattered away from the focus **F**.
