Description

The electric motor is an electric machine that is used to convert electrical energy into mechanical work. The vast majority of current uses of electric force effects of magnetic fields. Current electric motors are usually implemented as rotating electrical machines. Less common are non-rotating motors, eg. A linear electric motor. Electric machines that convert mechanical work into electrical are referred to as a generator, an alternator and a dynamo. Most types of electrical machines can operate as a motor or a generator, depending on the use. These machines can also automatically switch from motor to generator mode and vice versa. Thanks to these features the electric drives allow using the brake with recuperation ie. the return of electrical energy back to the network or batteries.
