Bimetallic thermometer is a special type of thermometer to determine the temperature using a bimetallic strip. Bimetallic strip is composed of two metals with different thermal expansion.
The bimetallic strip is at one end fixed with a stem of the thermometer. At the other end is fixed to the shaft. When the temperature changes, the strip is bent (longer or shorter), and transmits the movement to a pointer that displays the temperature value on the scale. The scale is calibrated in degrees Celsius (° C).
