Graduated Cylinder

Graduated cylinder can be plastic or glass hollow vessel. It is used for measuring the approximate volume of substances in liquid or solid state. When using a measuring cylinder, it is required to observe the rules for metering. The cylinder should be placed on a horizontal surface. The level of liquid in the cylinder may be deformed due to the different physical properties (liquid wets or does not wet the walls of the container), so when measuring water, the lower level is always deducted.

In the model, we can observe the curvature of the liquid surface, and also two cases of parallax errors caused by inappropriate view of the scale - wrong angles. Right measurement can be taken only by looking at the liquid level in a plane parallel to it. The scale is calibrated in milliliters (ml).
