Body Dimensions ‒ The Vitruvian Man

by STEAM3D

Description

The Vitruvian Man is a pen drawing on paper by Leonardo da Vinci, depicting a nude male figure in two overlapping positions, inscribed within both a circle and a square. This iconic image illustrates da Vinci's interpretation of ideal human body proportions. According to the original description, a palm equals four fingers, a foot equals four palms, a cubit equals six palms, and four cubits define the height of a man. These units are obsolete, and today we use the international system of units (SI). The SI system describes seven base units: meter, kilogram, second, ampere, kelvin, mole, and candela, along with numerous derived units, which are combinations of these base units.
