Description

Ordinary light bulbs are still the most widely used light sources. They are produced in billions annually and are part of the basic production assortment of almost all major lighting manufacturers. They belong to a group of temperature light sources, wherein the basis function in general is a method of heating elements to temperatures at which the visible radiation appears. The bulb is a light source emitting light from a body (fiber) incandescent by an electric current.

The characteristic feature of all the thermal sources is a continuous spectrum of light emitted by them, and at the same time however, a very low efficiency of conversion of electrical energy into light. This fact largely determines their future fate.
