Structure of the Atom

by Corinth

Description

The substances (elements and compounds) are composed of basic building blocks - atoms. The atom is composed of a nucleus containing nucleons and an electron pack containing negatively charged electrons. Nucleons are divided into positively charged protons and neutrons with a neutral charge. Negatively charged electrons and positively charged protons attract each other. The atom as a whole is electrically neutral.
