**Information:** Nitrobenzene is a colourless to yellowish liquid that smells like bitter almonds (the same as for hydrogen cyanide). Nitrobenzene is highly toxic and rapidly absorbed through the skin (soluble fat). Its vapour inhalation is very dangerous.
**Use:** It is a basic raw material for the production of aniline and azo dyes. It is used as an ingredient in polish creams for shoes.
