Graphical addition of angles a + b is performed as follows: first, we take one side of angle a and align angle b outside angle a. This means that the two angles do not overlap, provided their sum does not exceed 360°. Their sum is the angle defined by the two opposite sides of the angles. When subtracting angles a - b, we proceed similarly, except we position angle b inside angle a. The resulting angle is again defined by the sides of both angles. Note: If a ≤ b, we must be cautious about the orientation of the angle. To avoid complications, it is often easier to calculate the difference as b − a instead.
