Description

Stone rows are a specific type of megalithic structure, typically consisting of large, minimally worked stones. These structures are still found today, primarily in northwestern Europe, particularly in the British Isles and the Mediterranean region. The oldest megalithic structures date back to the Neolithic period, with the most recent examples from the Late Bronze Age. These structures are believed to have served cultural, ritualistic, and funerary purposes. Stone rows are characterized by groupings of megaliths arranged in a linear formation. Some of the largest examples extend nearly a kilometer in length and feature thousands of menhirs.
