3.1.3 Space and Form

by German Curriculum

Description

3.1.3 Key Idea: Space and Form - Recognize geometric structures in concrete objects in their environment and describe them using technical language. They are able to identify flat figures and solids in representations, clearly distinguishing between surfaces and solids. They describe geometric objects and their properties and relationships between these objects using technically correct language. They develop concepts in two- and three-dimensional space and operate mentally with the geometric objects contained therein. The students use compasses and set squares to draw geometric objects and determine distances graphically. They sketch simple flat and three-dimensional figures and depict them graphically using appropriate aids. They can handle various forms of representation of three-dimensional objects such as models, oblique images and nets.
