Sharpen delivery in different environments and practice every part of a presentation – from pitch slides to a live Q&A. Whether leading in a classroom or presenting in a conference hall, students will refine their delivery skills in a simulated environment that mirrors realistic presentation challenges. Each presentation room allows students to choose from a set of pre-uploaded pitch decks based on workplace examples or upload slides for a more personalized experience. **Key Features:** - Choose the environment and presentation from a selection of pre-uploaded pitch deck options or upload user-created decks - Present in a variety of professional environments - Receive feedback on eye contact, pitch, pace and filler words - Adjust background distractions depending on preference - Generate a recording of the presentation, allowing for playback and self-evaluation ## Content Overview: Presentation rooms contain 13 room options and 15 pre-uploaded pitch decks to choose from. Users can also choose whether to upload their own slides. ## Duration & Guidance: Each scenario is between five to ten minutes in duration, but times may vary depending on the user. Students can complete activities within this time frame, but for more flexible scenarios with extended interaction, we recommend taking regular breaks. Additionally, scenarios include guidance on whether to complete the training seated or standing. # TEACHING FRAMEWORK{.objective .objective} Throughout this experience, ask students to maintain a “**Communication Journal.”** This journal can be a small notebook, a stapled packet, a digital document or use the worksheet provided (see exemplar for further guidance). # Before the Experience **Initial Thoughts** Encourage self-awareness and critical thinking by having students respond to the following prompts in their journal before beginning any of the VR experiences. This reflection sets the stage for intentional practice and personal growth. - Think about a time you had to give a presentation or speak in front of a group. What went well? How did you feel? What was challenging about it?{.task} - What helps you feel in control or confident when you’re talking in front of a group? What tends to distract you?{.task} - When it comes to verbal and nonverbal communication skills, where do you see your biggest room for improvement?{.task} - What do you think makes someone a strong, confident communicator?{.task} **Action Plan** Before entering the Presentation Rooms VR experience, ask students to create an individualized Action Plan that will guide their learning. By making choices about their presentation environment, topic and use of notes, students can tailor the experience to their skill level and areas for growth. You can allow students freedom of choice or give them specific requirements. Provide a checklist of options for students to select from: - Rooms – Decide how many rooms students should explore by setting a specific amount or allowing flexibility. Ask students to revisit their Initial Thoughts and identify where they may find the most growth. - Presentations – Choose the content for each room from preloaded sample presentations available in the VR experience or prepare and upload one of their own (such as a class assignment, passion project or a personal interest). - Notes – Choose from sample notes provided in the VR experience, prepare and upload their own or practice presenting without notes. # During the Experience **Real-Time Reflections** To support engagement and reinforce learning during each VR session, ask students to create an entry in their journal each time they complete a presentation. - *Focus - Today, I presented in the \_\_\_ room using \_\_\_presentation deck and/or \_\_\_ notes.* - *Insight - One thing that challenged me in this room was \_\_\_. One thing that felt different in this room was \_\_\_ compared to previous rooms.* - *Technique - My strategy was to \_\_\_, adjusting to the environment and/or audience size.* - *Feeling - I felt \_\_\_before the presentation and \_\_\_ afterward.* # After the Experience **What I Learned** To follow up, ask students to respond to the following prompts in their journal. - How has your confidence changed since beginning the Presentation Room sessions?{.task} - Which room felt the most comfortable for you to present in? Why?{.task} - Which room challenged you the most, and what adjustments did you make? Why?{.task} # Extended Learning **Final Presentation Challenge** Students should prepare and deliver a presentation on a topic of their choice. Topics may be personal, persuasive, or informative, whatever fits your instructional goals. Select a room for the presentation – either an environment the student finds challenging or meaningful, or a consistent room for all students. Students will use the built-in recording options to record their presentations. Encourage a few practice runs before recording. To assess, use a rubric or checklist, providing students with individual feedback. Optionally, ask students to watch their own recording and self-assess using the same rubric or checklist. # How To View Student Analytics 1.
