Description

Shivithi plaque (Hebrew “I put”). The name shiviti comes from the first word in Psalm 16.8 “I always put the Lord before my eyes”. The Shivithi is located on the eastern wall in the main prayer room for men, on the right in the Chewra Lomdej Mishnajot Synagogue in Oświęcim. The plaque was probably placed in the synagogue after the Second World War by Holocaust survivors.
