# Learning objectives 1: Be able to describe the characteristics of a polar habitat.{.info} 2: Be able to describe animals survive in polar habitats{.info} # Icy Waters{.objective .objective1} In this section, the polar habitat is described. From the cold waters of polar seas to the icy terrain, they make up key parts of these environments. As the seasons change through summer and winter the extent of the sea ice will expand or begin to thaw and melt, depending on how conditions are changing. # Staying Warm{.objective .objective2} In this section, how animals keep warm in polar habitats is described. From thick oily feathers of the penguin to the long thick fur of polar bears, thick blubber of orcas and seals, and the huddling behaviour of penguins, the various ways animals keep warm will be outlined. # Finding Food{.objective .objective3} In this section animals including the polar bear and Orca show how they find food.
