The Great Depression

This scene takes the form of two streets that students can explore. The first street will show students what it was like to live in the US in the 1920’s and show them the importance of wealth, fashion and new cultures that emerged. In the second street, which is based in the 1930’s students can explore the same street and learn about the continuities and changes that occurred overtime as a result of The Great Depression.

# What was life like in the 1920’s?{.objective .objective1}

In this section students can learn about the roaring twenties. In this activity, students are asked to explore the scene to find examples that demonstrate the 1920’s to be an era of high fashion, culture and wealth.

# What caused The Great Depression?{.objective .objective2}

In this section students can learn about the many different causes of The Great Depression. Students are asked to identify find out about what happened on 29th October 1929.

# What was life like during The Great Depression{.objective .objective3}

In this section students can learn about how life changed for many people in The Great Depression. In this activity students are asked to identify how people lived during the 1930’s?

# What was the impact of The Great Depression?{.objective .objective4}

In this section students can learn about the local and global impact of The Great Depression, including on the USA and Germany. In this activity students are asked to think about why they believe it is important to learn about The Great Depression and what can be learnt from this historical event.
