Welcome to Ancient Egypt! A civilisation that began over 5,000 years ago which was located along the River Nile in northeast Africa. In this scene students can learn how the ancient Egyptians were experts at farming and construction and why farming was so important in their community.

# How did people live in Ancient Egypt?{.objective .objective1}
Students can view a typical ancient Egyptian house that was built from mudbricks with floors that we made from earth. They can investigate which rooms were available and what they were used for. Many day-to-day objects can be identified including: food , drink and daily tools.
# What jobs existed in Ancient Egypt? {.objective .objective2}
In ancient Egypt, there was a large variety of jobs, including: bakers, doctors, scribes, merchants, and priests. Students are encouraged to look closely around the house and identify pieces of equipment they ancient Egyptians would use daily.
# Why was Farming Important in Ancient Egypt? {.objective .objective3}
The ancient Egyptians based their farming around the annual flooding of the river Nile. Here, students can learn about how the seasons of the Egyptian calendar affected the way the ancient Egyptians lived.
