# Learning objectives Know the Nazi Persecution Forced the Jewish Community into Hiding{.info} Know about Ann Frank’s Secret Annex{.info} Know the Hardship of Living in the Annex{.info} # Persecution and Hiding {.objective .objective1} Students will learn about the reasons that led to the Jewish people being persecuted by the Nazis and forced many into hiding. They will learn about the changes in the laws, rules, and regulations that over a period of 6 years led to German born Jews having their rights taken away. # Day to Day in the Secret Annex {.objective .objective2} Students will be asked to explore the scene and think about what the living conditions may have been like. They will explore Anne’s room and how she may have felt sharing her small room with Fritz # Desire and Freedom{.objective .objective3} Students will learn that Anne kept a diary addressed to an imaginary friend, Kitty. They will about the importance of the diary, not only for Anne, but for everyone else in understanding life in hiding during the second world war. They will appreciate the roller coaster of emotions that spread throughout the annex and their desire for freedom, while living in fear of being discovered.
