Passover

Pesach, or Passover, is a Jewish festival that commemorates the story of the Israelites departure from ancient Egypt which appears in the Torah (Judaism Holy Text) and Old Testament, in the chapters of Exodus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. The festival lasts for eight days and is a time to rest. In this scene students can explore the streets of ancient Egypt and learn about how the Israelites escaped the Pharaoh and its significance today. # Learning objectives 1: Understand the Passover Story{.info} 2: Explain how Jewish communities celebrate the festival of Passover.{.info} # The Passover Story {.objective .objective1} In this scene students can learn about how the Passover story began three thousand years ago and how Moses asked the Pharaoh to release the Israelites from slavery. In this section students are asked to consider the message of the Passover Story and why they believe God sent down 10 plagues. # The Seder Meal{.objective .objective2} In this scene students can learn about the importance of the Seder meal and how it reflects key parts of the Passover Story.
