# Objectives: To place the days of the week in the correct chronological order.{.info} 1: To recognize the written forms of the days of the week.{.info} 2: To identify the day before and the day after any given day.{.info} # The Days of the Week{.objective .objective1} Students will be presented with the days of the week and an explanation of what is considered a ‘weekday’ and the ‘weekend’. They will be encouraged to look at the calendar and identify the written form of the days of the week. Each day will have an image associated with it depicting a specific activity. Students should observe the activities and identify which day of the week it belongs to. Monday – Cornelius packs his school bag ready for the week. Tuesday – He plays tennis. Wednesday – He has a violin lesson. Thursday - He goes to the supermarket. Friday – He buys ice-cream. Saturday – He meets friends at the playground. Sunday – He cleans the house. # Yesterday and Tomorrow{.objective .objective2} The concept of ‘today’, ‘tomorrow’ and ‘yesterday’ is explained.
