Leaf and Stem of Monocots and Dicots

by STEAM3D

Description

Monocotyledonous (monocots) and dicotyledonous (dicots) plants display several distinct differences. These differences are evident in aspects such as germination, root structure, attachment of leaves to the stem, leaf construction, vein patterns and flowering characteristics. One of the primary differences is secondary growth, which is present in most dicots. In monocots, secondary growth is typically absent. In monocotyledonous plants, leaf veins typically exhibit acrodromous or parallel venation. Dicotyledonous plants generally exhibit pinnate or palmate venation.
